First impressions in NY

The flight was really long. Besides we had a long wait at hte JFK Airport. We arrived to the Amsterdam Residence really tired and hungry. The first thing we did was leaving our luggage in our rooms. So, we left the place to get some hot food and walk around. We ate at a Subway. I got surprised there because the attendant answered us back in Spanish. Then, after walking some blocks, we arrived to Fifth Avenue. An amazing avenue where everybody strides in different direction. I suddenly felt the urge to stop for a while. I looked at people's faces: Asians, African americans, blonde ones, latins. And I read the signs: a cart next to me offered shawarma, other pretzels, other one a little steps aside offered hot dogs. There, at that very instant, I had my epiphany. Yes, Oh my God, I was in New York.
